Teething and Growing

I love being a mom, most of the time. It's the times when your children need help, want help or are hurt and you can't do anything to help them when I don't like being the mom. I would rather be a superhero that is able to be in two places at once and accomplish all of her tasks while playing with the girls and giving them attention. (PS, Madelyn just tooted REALLY loudly while sleeping, and it was cute) Emma is teething and with that comes a bad diaper rash. We have been to the doctor three times in the  past month to get meds to help her. Today Maddie had an appointment but the dr. saw Emma also. We got more meds and hopefully it will help but until then, she despises getting her diaper changed (righfully so). I wish I could just wipe all of her boo boo's away and make her feel better. She is such a happy kid that when she hurts or doesn't feel well, it breaks my heart. Maddie however is perfectly happy and content! She is doing well, except she apparently needs to eat a little more (yikes for the nursing mommy!). She was sitting in her plush, fit for a baby queen swing this evening while Jared was putting Emma to bed and she was just talking and smiling at me. I did get a video of it and it is on my facebook page. (www.facebook.com/melissagrantwhitley)
On the mommy note, I am ready for the Thirty-One business to take off!! I am ready to be busy about the business :) I am excited to see how the Lord will use it and work through it! I pray that I will remember that it is all for His glory, and not just to make money. I am REALLY looking forward to the fellowship that it will bring. I think that's what I'm excited most about. The money is great, but I am looking forward to meeting new people, having fun times with those that I already know and serving those ladies! I hope people don't think that I am coming across as a salesman, but I want to give others the opportunities that Thirty-One has given me. You can get free and half price items and/or you can become a consultant and make money and serve ladies! What an awesome opportunity!
Update on Jared. He still has his headaches (boo). Yesterday he was cutting grass for an older couple and got stung by some bees. His reaction has been less than favorable and is still bothering him (it appears as though Jared can't get a break with his health). He was going to finish cutting the grass until he saw a snake slither in front of him. He decided that God wanted him to go home (between a headache, bee stings and a snake). He is feeling fine, just quite itchy from the stings. He has a neurology appointment next week so hopefully they will find something that will give us some answers soon.
I really want to post up some pictures of the girls, but I haven't figured that out. Maybe if nap time goes well tomorrow I can accomplish that! I do have some more planning to do for Amy's super sweet Thirty-One party next week also but I'm sure I can manage both...that is if the girls allow me :)

  1. I am enjoying your updates. I wanted to share that when Hannah and Cari were little (in diapers), they had AWFUL diaper rash. My mom suggest plain corn starch. I bought some (in the flour/sugar section) and it worked PERFECTLY!! I never used that expensive diaper rash creme again. It never seemed to help anyway.
