We survived a tropical storm in upstate NY! How many people can say that? :) We actually wouldn't have even known it was a hurricane except for the tv because it was just another rainy, windy day in the Adirondacks. We did lose power at about 7:30pm (after waiting all day for it to go out) but it came back on at 3:30am (only a few hours after going to bed). We had a "camp out" with some friends that stopped in for a chat. Mark and Amy Wallenwine ended up staying until 1:00am!! We had such a good time just talking about stuff. As they were leaving, Emma woke up and didn't go back to sleep for about an hour or so. Needless to say, when the power came on, Jared was VERY disappointed that he would have to go to work. Mostly because we had stayed up so late in anticipation that he wouldn't have to go in but also because anyone would want an extra day off! So, what's the needy part of the post? My second daughter Madelyn Grace Whitley. I'm not sure what her deal is, but she has wanted someone to hold her for the past two days. Not so great for us! She also hasn't been sleeping as much (like hardly at all during the day) so I'm guessing she is going through a growth spurt. I am getting ready for my FIRST Thirty-One party tomorrow and getting ready for a bridal shower next week, my dad is coming in next week also. Then we leave to drive to Atlanta. So, I am trying to mentally prepare for the next couple of weeks and Maddie is making me hold her. :) I LOVE to do so and I always smile when I finally pick her up, but I also think about what I have to do. Then I remember that I won't be able to hold her for much longer so I put everything else on hold (except for Emma, I don't think she came with a pause button) and just soak up the time I have with my girls! Emma never ceases to make me laugh and Maddie is growing so fast that now she follows things, smiles and almost laughs. Both of them are so cute! I have a huge smile on my face right now as I type this because they just make people smile. Today, Emma decided that in order to get what she wants, she needs to do everything she has learned in sign language so that way whatever we are asking her to do, she is doing it. She can do "please", "thank you", and "more". It's quite funny to watch her do them all in such a swift way. She loves her sister and her sister loves her. Maddie smiles so big when Emma goes over to check on her. It is so cute! Emma will take Maddie her paci (Brinkley the dog) and her blanket and spit up rag. Maddie loves it when Emma does that because then she is getting some attention :) I think that they will be best friends!!
I know it's early for my posts, but I have a few things to do to get ready for the party tomorrow and then I'm off to bed! :) I hope all is well! Chao!
