The first day

Today is the first day of this new found blog thing. I have seen a couple of people do their own blogs and they are FANTASTIC! I know mine will not be that great because I am not nearly as creative as they are. I just wanted a place where family and friends could go to see pictures (instead of or in addition to Facebook) and also read stories about the Whitley's as we journey along the life the Lord has laid before us. Since having Madelyn, my body decided that 6am is the perfect time to wake up and 12:00ish is the perfect time to go to sleep. That leaves me with some downtime in the early mornings and late nights so hopefully I will be able to keep up with this new hobby. If not, email me and tell me to get with the program!!
I will probably include more links to cool things than explaining how to do them, mostly because I think I can do it but then when I try, it doesn't work out that great. I usually make it work but not nearly as gracefully as the pictures on the website or magazine display.
Many people look at the pictures I post up on Facebook every day (as my kids are just so darn cute) so hopefully they will jump over here to see the latest story, such as Emma loves to put a plastic tub on her head (one of the butter tubs). She is so cute when she does it because her big ears hold it up and stick out and then she smiles and melts your heart!
Emma story: I was outside hanging up our laundry (because we don't have a dryer, not because we are "green" people, although that's cool too) and I peeked inside to check on the girls. Maddie is in her swing content and Emma has stopped in front her Maddie's swing. I thought, "Oh boy, what is she going to do now...she has her juice bottle (a nalgene bottle) in her hand". Emma leans over and pats Maddie, then kind of squeezes her to give her a hug and smiles at her and talks to her a little bit. Then she puts her juice bottle on Maddie's lap, just in case Maddie wants some in the next few minutes and Emma go about her business of finding something else to get in to. I can't wait to watch the girls interact! I know they will be best friends!!
That's all for now, but it's only 1 in the afternoon...check back for some more stories from the Whitley's!
